However, rotating the project north can affect the model. It is more comfortable to work with this building if we can rotate the view. *EARTH45, Earth or ground at 45 degrees(subterranean)ĪCA (5) ADT (2) Architecture (1) Astronomy (3) AU (8) Aubin Academy (2) AutoCAD (6) AutoCAD Architecture (11) AutoCAD Architecture 2010 (8) AutoCAD Architecture 2011 (1) AutoCAD Book (10) AutoCAD MEP (16) AutoCAD MEP 2010 (13) AutoCAD MEP 2011 (2) Autodesk (6) Autodesk University (9) BIM (2) Book (4) CAD (3) Celestia (2) Central Files (1) Classes (2) Course|Notes (1) Crash (2) Curtain Walls (1) Custom Elevation Tags (1) Dataset Updates (4) Demolition (1) Design Options (1) DVD (1) Errors (1) Hand Drawing (1) Hotels (1) Job Opportunities (1) KnowledgeSmart (1) Learning (1) Local Files (1) (1) Mars (1) Mastering AuotCAD MEP (4) Mastering Revit Architecture 2010 (4) Mastering Revit Architecture 2011 (1) Memory Lane (1) MEP (9) MEP Book (10) Moraine Valley (1) Mosque Drawings (1) Moving (1) New Site (2) Off topic (4) Online Training (1) (2) Planetarium (1) Reference Card (2) Revit (40) Revit 2010 (21) Revit 2011 (9) Revit Architecture (3) Revit Assessment (1) Revit Book (14) Revit Details (2) Revit Keynotes (1) Revit MEP (1) Revit Patterns (1) Revit Resources (3) Revit Training (11) Revit Tutorial (3) Revit Video (1) Revit Video Training (1) Revit View Range (1) Roofs (2) Scouting (1) Snow (1) Social Media (1) Solar System (1) St.When we design a building in a site, we often see that the building north is not our preferred direction. If you wish to create it yourself, simply open NotePad and type the following: So the instructions in my old copy enabled me to create a modified version of the Earth hatch pattern, import it into Revit and then use it as the cut pattern for the material applied to topography in a Revit project. But fortunately hatch patterns in AutoCAD have not changed very much in nearly 20 years. I have provided a link here to the current edition on Amazon I have a somewhat older version.

This is kind of a silly limitation its true, but this gave me an excuse to dust off my old copy of Sham Tickoo's Customizing AutoCAD. Patterns created directly in Revit (which limits you to just lines in one or both directions) can be rotated, but imported patterns must be at the correct rotation to begin with.

Alas, it is not possible to rotate an imported pattern in Revit.

They like the Earth pattern to be at a 45 degree angle. The reason for the question was that they wanted to rotate a pattern that was imported from a PAT file-namely the Earth hatch pattern.

A client recently asked me about rotating patterns in Revit.
